The informal music sessions began in the early 90's - everyone was having so much fun that they can no longer remember the exact date.
The sessions became established during the time that Murphy and Sue ran the bar and supplied the Headgear (in the millinery sense). Further contributory factors were the annual Broomhall concert and the demise of a well received, yet unsuccessful folk night at The Washington.
The sessions are lead by Karl (of Earthtales, The Mysterons, Agent Orange, Texan Tapes, amongst many) who knows LOTS of Jackie Leven numbers, accompanied by Giles on whistle and percussion. Ask for their version of Purple Haze!
Join them at The Hanover (House), Clarke Street, Broomhall, Sheffield UK on the FIRST Thursday of the month, starting around 9:30pm.
Obituary : Roy Airton d.Jan 2003
Murphy and Sue can now be found at The Sherwood Inn on Birley Moor Road
